P90X Workout Day 13 Review
P90X Kenpo X
The last time that I did P90X Kenpo X, I had never done it and I found it interesting to doing as it was different than any of the workouts that I had done before. Today I am afraid that P90X Kenpo X has lost its appeal. This is because of two reasons, I think that punching and kicking the air is both goofy and boring and Kenpo X is too easy for me! I am not sure if it is because I am still used to doing Insanity workouts, or if it is just meant to be a push over workout. Either way, I do not feel like it is going to fix my craving to get some intense cardio in.
The highest that my heart rate got during the entire workout was 148, and this was during the “break”, specifically right after doing the “X Jumps”. During the bulk of the workout, while doing kicking or punching, my heart rate fluctuated between 95 and 127. This is not even close to the zone that I would like to be in (150 – 160). I am keeping up with the entire workout and able to do every exercise. I am keeping great form and I am doing every single repetition that they do in the video. And yet, they all look like they are getting a much better workout, heck Tony’s shirt is soaked in sweat… I just don’t get it.
I am going to order some wrist and ankle weight so that I have them before doing P90X Kenpo X next week. It is clear that I need to add some resistance. Hopefully this will significantly increase the difficulty of this workout. If it does not, I am going to consider making an adjustment. When I ordered P90X, it came with the P90X+ package as a free bonus. If I get some time this week, I will watch it to see if it looks like it will increase the intensity. To be honest, I would rather not substitute a workout, as I do not feel like this would really be completing the program If I did not follow the schedule. I guess we will see how well next week goes.
Thank you for reading my P90X day 13 Review. Tomorrow will be my rest day, and I will not be creating a post. Saturday will be P90X Day 15, Chest & Back and Ab Ripper X. Be sure to check back in to see how it goes.
