P90X Workout Review, Day 11
P90X Yoga X
Yoga X is so long, and so difficult! Unlike the last time I did P90X Yoga X, today I went into the workout know what I was getting myself into. This might sound like a good thing, but it wasn’t. I think that my last experience has left me with a negative mindset that is going to be difficult to get over. I spent the entire workout with a though lingering in the back of my mind that was telling me that I hated Yoga and wanted to just stop. Fortunately I was able to ignore it today.
I guess that I can say that I did better at many of the positions. I think this was mostly because I was focusing less on trying to learn what to do next and I was able to focus more on my form. The Yoga blocks that I purchased after doing Yoga last week help significantly on many of the positions. However, for most of the positions, flexibility is not my problem, so the Yoga blocks do not help me. On these moves, my problem is simply just weakness of the muscles that are the focus of the position. It is obvious that the only thing that is going to fix this would be to keep doing it.
I am still not happy with P90X Yoga X at this point. I know that in order to continue to get through this, I am going to have to remove my distaste for the workout and refresh the slate of my opinion. I plan to spend some time this week doing some research on the history and health benefits of Yoga in general. Hopefully this will help to create a more positive foundation before going into P90X Yoga X next week.
